SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WSYX) — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said there have been 33 bomb threats in recent days related to rising tensions over immigrants in Springfield, and each one has turned out to be a hoax.
"None of these had any validity at all," DeWine said during a news conference in Springfield on Monday afternoon.
Springfield has been the subject of heavy scrutiny since former President Donald Trump repeated during last week's nationally-televised debate with Kamala Harris the unproven claim that Haitian immigrants there are stealing and eating residents' pets.
