CARPENTER: "No. He was extremely defensive, he claimed persecution from the Democratic Party and the media. When he was pressed, candidate was leading him to answer the question, saying don't you think this is wrong. He didn't go into the interview saying this is absolutely wrong, I'm trying to clear it up. There was not an ounce of compassion in his voice. The one thing in the interview which I thought was -- he said well I never dated young women without getting the mother's permission. What? That needs a follow-up question. Now I see that Roy more needs to debate a candidate -- I feel like he's imploding. If that was a legitimate reason they had you debate. He is running and hiding and all speaking in the safest of places."
