BESHEAR: "Yes we are. And first, thanks for having me as your first ever guest. And I’m here with good news, at least for Kentuckians. Our folks worked through the night last night and today SNAP benefits are loaded on the cards throughout Kentucky, meaning 600,000 Kentuckians that hadn’t gotten full benefits are now seeing them now. This was a journey because this is the first president in my lifetime that refused to pay SNAP benefits during a shutdown. He claimed his lawyers told him that he couldn’t. This is a president that was sending $40 billion to Argentina, but wouldn’t pay for food for hungry Americans, so I and a bunch of ags and governors took him to court. We won. And eventually, as this shutdown ended and was reopened, we’ve now seen full benefits coming to our people."
