Chris Matthews, while reporting on Donald Trump's address to the National Rifle Association Friday, said that the media is generally pro-choice, anti-gun, and "not representative of the country."

Here's a rush excerpt:

WILLIAMS: "Why has there been this split between members of the news media who so often are mystified earn of a gun cult in America outside New York, Washington and L.A.?"
MATTHEWS: "Because you’re answering your own question. Because of geography, Brian, like stock car ING and abortion rights. We assume in the big ies there’s a cosmopolitan attitude we all share. with and know socially who have different views. There is sort of a language I’m sure there are quietly among the multitude of people we work spoken in the media pro-choice, anti-gun rights, the usual sophistication we’re used to. It’s not representative of the country. I think this is a cowboy country in spirit, self-reliance, drive your own car, people don’t like mass transportation."
