McConnell: Senate Will Not Vote on Legislation Protecting Robert Mueller (NTK Network)

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said during an interview Tuesday that legislation protecting Special Counsel Robert Mueller is not necessary and will not be taken up by the Senate.

Fox News’ Neil Cavuto asked McConnell how he felt about bipartisan legislation that was introduced in the Senate last week, which would protect Mueller from being fired.

“Well, that’s not necessary. There is no indication that Mueller is going to be fired. I don’t think the president is going to do that,” McConnell said. “Just as a practical matter, even if we passed it, why would he sign it?”
