Ahead of Monday's first contest in the 2020 Democratic primary, a civil war is brewing.
Bernie Sanders supporters are livid at the DNC's decisions to waive rules that would have prohibited Michael Bloomberg's participation in the next debate.
The filmmaker Michael Moore, appearing Friday night at a Sanders rally in Clive, Iowa, went on a long, loud tirade against the party.
"I watched the debate in Iowa here two weeks ago -- the all white debate -- and the fact that the Democratic, the DNC will not allow Cory Booker on that stage, will not allow Julian Castro on that stage, but they are going to allow Mike Bloomberg on the stage?" Moore roared. "Because he has a billion f*cking dollars!"
The crowd went wild, and Moore continued using profanity throughout his remarks.
"I am sorry, those days are over," Moore said of the DNC moving to help Bloomberg. "Those days are over."
Sanders and Joe Biden are running neck-and-neck as Iowa voters on Monday will be the first to cast votes for 202- presidential candidates.
The DNC announced today it would waive its requirements candidates demonstrate widespread grassroots support to participate in primary debates, thus clearing the way for the self-funded Bloomberg.
