With the White House admitting Monday that ObamaCare premiums will increase by an eye-popping average of 25 percent in 2017, it’s worth recalling how severely these prices contrast with the White House’s sales pitch back in 2008.
Throughout 2008, Obama touted how his health-care plan would save the average family on average $2,500 annually on their health insurance premiums.
June 17, 2007: "And cut the costs of health care by up to $2,500 per family."
January 3, 2008: "And if you already have health care, we're going to reduce costs by an average of $2,500 per family on premiums."
February 19, 2008: "And if you already have health insurance, we will lower your premiums by $2,500 per family per year."
February 23, 2008: “And we will lower premiums for the typical family by $2,500 a year."
March 1, 2008: "And we’ll work with your employer to lower your premiums by $2,500 per family per year.”
