President Trump reminds Rep. Nancy Pelosi of ... a vampire?
That was her allusion today while discussing Trump's Syria strategy.
Asked to name something positive about Trump, Pelosi faltered, proffered some thoughts about his attempts to save children in Syria, before coming around again to more criticism.
All of which brought her to his early morning tweets, which she somehow likened to the behavior of a vampire.
Here's an excerpt:
“In terms of Syria, what I said after Syria was, ‘We’re very sad about those children and families that were affected by the sarin attack. We have children all over the world — a million and a half children in the next 6 months alone in Africa will die of malnutrition. Many millions will have their growth stunted from lack of food and nutrition.
In our own country, one in four or five children goes to sleep hungry at night and lives in poverty. So, I’m glad that he was moved by the children in Syria, we all have been. And it would be nice if he was moved to allow them into the country instead of having a restriction on those refugees from Syria coming in, especially if they’re Muslim. There’s so many inconsistencies.
I’m trying really hard to find something positive. I wonder — although this morning he had three tweets. I was thinking he was more of a creature that stalked the night. That these things just came out at night, like a vampire, and then he tweeted these things. But now it spread to the morning. So, let me think for a while.”
