Podesta on Trump-Russia Collusion: ‘There Certainly Must Have Been Winks and Nods Going On’

‘We now know that there were several meetings between Trump officials and Russians, to some extent, direct agents’

EXCERPT:

PODESTA: "Roger Stone, who was a Trump confidant, was kind of bragging to people that the Russians and WikiLeaks was going to come and hit me and all of a sudden, you know, maybe it’s a coincidence that on a Friday afternoon right after the dump of this 'Access Hollywood' tape, within 30 minutes, WikiLeaks started dumping the e-mails that had been stolen from my account. But, you know, there’s a course of conduct here. We now know that there were several meetings between Trump officials and Russians, to some extent direct agents of Russian government. So I think it’s up to Mr. Mueller to establish how much, if any, direction was given by the campaign to the way that they handled the information, the timing, and the distribution of that information, particularly through Facebook."
MELVIN: "In your heart of hearts, though, do you believe that this administration colluded with the Russians?"
PODESTA: "Well, in my heart of hearts, I believe there certainly must have been winks and nods going on."
