COSTA: "It’s worth recalling senator Sanders’ campaign as well. I spent the final two weeks with him and his run in the California primary. And his campaign, that Progressive movement, I don’t think gets enough attention. It’s almost like the Barry Goldwater campaign for the left. He lost the race, he didn’t even win the nomination, but if decades from now we’re living in a more Progressive country and trump’s populism didn’t seep in and become the way the country runs, we’ll look back perhaps to Senator Sanders and say that was a campaign that set the standard for how the Democrats and the country will be in the future."
