Scarborough: We’ve Reached Yet Another New Low in the Trump Presidency

‘But it was good to see George W. Bush striking out against casual cruelty, saying that white supremacy was blasphemy against the American creed’

SCARBOROUGH: “Well, they actually come at a badly-needed time. They couldn’t have choreographed it better. Because yesterday was one of those days when you looked at the news, when you looked at your Twitter stream, when you looked at what was going on and really did feel like, if it were possible, we had reached yet another new low in the Trump presidency. Battles over Gold Star wives and families and the back and forth, just extraordinarily ugly, but it was good to see George W. Bush striking out against casual cruelty, saying that white supremacy actually was blasphemy against the American creed, and Barack Obama speaking in terms of unison and not demonizing the other side. It is a reminder that even in presidents that many of us saw as deeply flawed on policy issues in many ways, that they still had their country’s best interests first and they still tried to figure out a way in the end to bind us all together."
