The socialist Seattle council member who spearheaded the push to raise the city’s minimum wage to $15/hour is now encouraging anti-Trump protesters to “shut down” the inauguration.
Kshama Sawant warned this week that protests against Trump are only the beginning, KIRO 7 reported.
"On inauguration day, we are going to shut it down!" Sawant told a crowd of activists, spurring a "Shut it Down!" chant.
A protest planned for the inauguration is being advertised on Facebook, where more than 62,000 have expressed interest. To date, 17,000 have indicated they'll participate in the #NotMyPresident protest.
