REPORTER: “The department in charge of food and housing at Stanford University has confirmed it used AI to dramatically change a student's race, gender, and weight in marketing materials. The picture, which has since been deleted, showed three students standing in what seems to be the Stanford dining hall. According to the school's newspaper, a student in the photo says that he remembers someone taking his picture, but says the pic was altered to change him into a black woman. In a statement to KRON 4, the university wrote it has reviewed the matter and confirmed that AI was used to alter the image in violation of university policy. And that it is working to provide additional training for all staff and to ensure the proper review of all materials.”
