Trump Blisters GOP for Not Having ‘Guts’ to Pass an ObamaCare Repeal with a Pres. Who’ll Sign It

‘They finally get a president who will sign the legislation, and they don’t have the guts to vote for it’

President Trump effectively called congressional Republicans hypocrites Friday night.

After Sen. McCain announced he would not support the Graham-Cassidy health care bill, likely dooming its chances of passing, Trump spoke at an Alabama rally on behalf of the state's junior senator, Luther Strange.

Trump said Republicans passed ObamaCare repeal bills "61 times" when Obama was president -- knowing he wouldn't sign the bill into law.

"It didn't take much courage," he said.

"They finally get a president who will sign the legislation, and they don't have the guts to vote for it," Trump said. "And they don't have the guts to vote for it. It's horrible. Horrible."

Here's a transcript:

"With ObamaCare, I have been listening for seven years as many of these people -- now Richard kept voting against it -- but many of these people kept saying 'repeal and replace and repeal and replace.' Then -- now they didn't care, nobody cared because they have a president that wasn't going to sign. And they didn't have the Senate, so it didn't matter. So it didn't take much courage. They were getting all of these great votes. I think they voted, what, 61 times! 61 times to repeal and replace! They finally get a president who will sign the legislation, and they don't have the guts to vote for it. And they don't have the guts to vote for it. It's horrible. Horrible."
