Today Corey Lewandowski was arrested for battery following an incident last month with a then-reporter from Breitbart. Below is our original report:
After last night's debate, Donald Trump was asked about the alleged altercation between Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields and his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. Trump denied the altercation -- during which Lewandowski was said to violently pull Fields' arm, pulling her toward the ground -- ever occurred.
"I don’t think he would ever do anything like that," Trump said.
Like Lewandowski, Trump cited the lack of available video footage. "Nobody saw anything," he insisted.
On Friday, a Washington Post reporter who witnessed the encounter, insisted "I saw what I saw."
The Daily Beast also reported Friday that Lewandowski admitted to the assault shortly after it occurred.
