PENCE: "The President thought it was very important that we come down here, not only bring senators but that we bring cameras in, that we go to the family facility to show that we are providing compassionate care to vulnerable families, families with children. I mean, I have to tell you, it was very moving for me as a parent to see these families that have been swept up in this crisis, but I was proud of our Customs and Border Protection that despite what we've read in newspapers like The New York Times and reporting that we've seen across the media, these families are receiving compassionate care in a proper environment and I asked every one of those little children are you being well taken care of, and they all looked at me and said yes, si. And that did my heart good, it made me proud of our Customs and Border Protection."
