Illegal immigration will become legal under a Elizabeth Warren presidency, the candidate said during a forum Tuesday.
Sen. Warren (D-Mass.), who’s fallen behind in 2020 primary polling since the rise of Mike Bloomberg, appeared at an immigration forum in Las Vegas.
Here’s a transcript of the exchange:
VOTER: “You’re one of the few candidates that has stated that you would like to decriminalize border crossing. If you become president, will you implement these policies?”
WARREN: “Yes. And this is truly, I want to give full credit to Julian. He is the one who raised this issue, who pressed it in the presidential debates, it is why it is important that he ran for president, that he was on that debate stage and that he pressed the candidates. I join him in this and I do it with an open heart. I am glad to do it. He teaches us all and I am grateful for that, Julian.”
