Lynch: Orlando Killer’s 9-1-1 Transcripts Will Redact His Talk of Terrorist Allegiance

‘What we’re not going to do is further this man’s propaganda’
By Grabien Staff

Attorney General Loretta Lynch admitted this morning that the Department of Justice will redact Omar Mateen's pledges of allegiance to terrorist organizations from the 9-1-1 call transcripts set to be released tomorrow. Lynch said leaving the transcripts unedited would "further this man's propaganda."

In contrast, after Charleston, Lynch specifically emphasized Dylann Roof's motivation.

She appeared Sunday morning on "Meet the Press." Here's a rush transcript:

LYNCH: " I’ll be going to Orlando on Tuesday to continue my briefings in the case. Actually what we’re announcing tomorrow is that the FBI is releasing a partial transcript of the conversation between the negotiators. That will be coming out tomorrow and I’ll be headed to Orlando on Tuesday."
TODD: "Including the hostage negotiation part of this?"
LYNCH: "Yes, it will be primarily a partial transcript of its calls with the hostage negotiators."
TODD: "You say partial, what’s being left out?"
LYNCH: "What we’re not going to do is further this man’s propaganda.
LYNCH: " We’re not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance and that. It will begin to capture the back and forth between him and the negotiators, we’re trying to get as much information got this investigation out as possible. As you know, because the killer is dead, we have a built more leeway there and we will be producing that information tomorrow."
