‘Everything that Martin Luther King junior and Coretta Scott King and so many others thought and literally died for is being challenged’

EXCERPT:

WATERS KING: "But I think it’s fair to say that our nation is on her knees. Democracy is on her knees. Everything that Martin Luther King Junior and Coretta Scott King and so many others thought and literally died for is being challenged. The gains that were made. So we can’t think of any better time to call the nation together, the draw major institute, along with the national action network next year, for the 60th anniversary. It’s time for us to stop talking about the dream. It’s time for us to stop talking and using Martin Luther King Junior as an idol, and it’s time for all of us to live up to those ideals. With that in mind, we’re all coming together. Well — we’ll be in Washington. We’re all for the 60th anniversary next year, looking forward to having the opportunity in this nation to realize the dream."
