AOC Creates Bizarre, Soviet-Style Posters to Help Sell the Green New Deal

The posters resemble propaganda posters from the former Soviet Union

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is hoping some art work will help sell Americans on her controversial Green New Deal.

The self-described Democratic Socialist lawmaker announced the release of a set of posters celebrating the Green New Deal, which will be given away this weekend in The Bronx and Queens.

“I am thrilled to announce the launch of our #GreenNewDeal art series with custom Bronx & Queens GND posters,” AOC tweeted Friday. “The Bronx edition poster will be given for free as a limited release to the public at our Pelham Bay Nature Day & Backpack Giveaway in the Bronx tomorrow.”

“These posters push us to imagine our future with a Green New Deal in two of our beloved NY-14 parks: Pelham Bay & Flushing Meadows,” she wrote. “All our #GND posters are made in the US, union-printed & will be available for purchase soon, but available at organizing events now.”

The left-wing lawmaker said this is just the start of a whole series of Green New Deal swag.

“Bronx & Queens art is where we’re starting, but we aspire to release custom #GreenNewDeal art for local communities across America,” she said. “We are also working on a line of GND reusables!”

After people on Twitter began likening the posters to Soviet-era propaganda, AOC said they’re actually inspired by FDR’s New Deal.

Several hours after releasing images of the posters, AOC claimed the inspiration came from the New Deal:
