The Atlanta chapter of the New Black Panthers Party is hitting the streets for Stacey Abrams, potentially Georgia’s first black governor.
On Saturday, members of the armed racial activist group could be spotted marching through Atlanta, urging voters to support Abram’s candidacy.

The group posted pictures of their campaigning on Facebook, calling it an “Armed Rally Against Voter Suppression.”
While the photos only show signs for Abrams, the group says this wasn’t being done on behalf of her campaign.
“And relax, before you make any assumptions we are not working for & we did not plan this event with either campaign, and we have members with different political views both here in Atlanta as well as nationwide and even right here in this post,” the group wrote. “We did this on our own accord in response to the voter registration issue we're still dealing with here in Georgia in 2018 (53 thousand registered voters voices won't be heard this election).”

Abrams faces off against Brian Kemp on Tuesday. Currently polling has Kemp leading by 2.7 percentage points.
