BIDEN: “Unemployment rate is 3.7 percent, near a 50 percent low — a 50-year low. But there’s more we can do. But the American people should have confidence that we are on the right track. We’re doing all this while cutting the deficit at the same time. You used to always hear from my friends on the other team, ‘yeah, they spend a lot of money and maybe some of it is worthwhile, but they’re just increasing the deficit.’ Guess what? First year in office, we reduced the deficit by $350 billion. (Applause) And guess what? This year — this year, we’re on track at the end of the fiscal year to reduce the deficit by over one trillion dollars.”
