Flashback: CNN’s Cuomo Said It Was ‘Illegal’ To Read Hacked DNC Emails

‘It’s illegal to possess these stolen documents’
By Grabien Staff

Back in 2016 when Wikileaks published embarrassing DNC emails showing, among other things, party officials mocking voters and their own candidates, CNN's Chris Cuomo forcefully argued on behalf of the DNC's privacy.

"It’s illegal to possess these stolen documents," Cuomo told his audience, chastising the thousands of Internet sleuths who had been poring over the tranches of emails. "It’s different for the media. So everything you’re learning about this, you’re learning from us, in full disclosure."

Tonight Cuomo took a different approach, airing a confidential conversation between then candidate Donald Trump and his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, in 2016. The conversation appears to touch on a payment being made to the former Playboy model, Karen McDougal.

Cuomo did not mention if it's "illegal" to posses a copy of this privileged conversation. However he did hype the scoop through his 9PM show on CNN.
