MACCALLUM: “We have a big story breaking right now. Amtrak cancelling long-distance trains starting tomorrow in case of this possible railroad strike that has been really percolating over the last couple of days. It says that it’s trying to avoid Passenger disruptions. The talks do not involve Amtrak or its workers. It’s a dispute with freight railroads. One union already rejecting a tentative deal. Under federal law, the workers are not allowed to strike until Friday. That is a big story that could be very disruptive to the U.S. economy.”
