GALLAGHER: "Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell has been hospitalized and he's receiving treatment tonight. Here's what happened. He apparently was invited to a private dinner at a hotel in Washington, D.C., we are being told it was a high-end hotel, and now a spokesperson for the 81-year-old McConnell has confirmed that the senator, who was attending the event at Waldorf Astoria, fell and that he’s been taken to the hospital. We do not know the severity of his injuries or if he was injured, but clearly, if he went to the hospital, there is something wrong. We will keep you updated on his condition as we learn more. We do have a statement from the spokesperson that says the following, quoting here: 'This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner. He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.' You go back a few years, to 2019, and he fell at his Louisville home, he hurt his shoulder then. He showed up to the Senate about a year later in 2020 and his hands were all bruised and there was some concern as to how his hands became totally bruised. So, again, Mitch McConnell, this is not his first fall. We will keep you up to speed as we get more information on the minority leader's condition."
