EXCERPT:
KURTZ: "In 2020, we talked about this on the air, you suffered a stroke. You recently told New York Magazine: 'I had a stroke because of Trump.' Frank, that’s ludicrous. You may have had a stroke for a lot of reasons, but I don’t think you can blame it on negative feelings about the former president."
LUNTZ: "No, it was — it’s a metaphor. It’s a metaphor wanting to be completely candid. It's a metaphor for wanting to tell the truth and that I was, quite frankly, nervous. I was on shows, including some that you’re close to, and I would pull my punches. And that’s not who I am. It’s not what I’m about. And I did so, and it used to cause me so much anxiety and so much stress that in the end, I think it contributed to ill health. And I simply don’t to do that anymore. And it allows me to look you straight in the eye and acknowledge, number one, where I got it wrong; number two, where the other people are getting it right. And most importantly, this relentless pursuit of the truth, I want people to trust me."
