ROSE: “Well, Phil, thanks for having me on The Lead tonight. My response to him is that he‘s the one that‘s out of touch with Americans. Over 83 percent of Americans support the SAVE America Act. Senator Tillis, I think, is headed on his way out the door. And it‘s a good thing because he‘s out of step with Republicans. He‘s out of step with Democrats. Over 70 percent of Democrats across the country support the SAVE America Act. And so, he can make light of it if he wants to, but he‘s mocking Americans who want secure elections. The president is right. I know that that disturbs Senator Tillis a lot, but he should do the right thing and vote as his constituents in North Carolina would have him to vote, and he should get the rest of the senators, the Republicans and Democrats alike, on board, to do what the American people want, which is to make sure that when you register to vote, that you can prove you‘re a United States citizen, and when you show up to vote, that you show an ID to prove that you are who you say you are.”
