DeSANTIS: “Critical race theory is basically teaching people to hate our country, hate each other, it’s divisive and it’s basically an identity politics version of Marxism. So I don’t think it has any place in the classroom, certainly shouldn’t be funded by tax dollars. So as we are doing this bold civics initiative, which is important, I think people like that, but I think a lot of people look at it and say, ‘Okay, they’d better be teaching the right stuff.’ So we will have a depoliticized curriculum, we’re not going to let that stuff in there, and I think that that will serve students well in the state of Florida for years to come.”
