HAYES: "Which brings us of course to Trump himself. He is not acting in an unusual fashion. He is doing what he has been doing since 2016. He is throwing a big temper tantrum at the mere thought that the party might not nominate him in 2024, full of resentment, anger, and lashing, out and posting all sorts of deranged things on his weird, little feeling a social media company. Even as he is responsible for many of the losses, he has been on a tweet storm, basically, for 48 hours. He has been attacking potential rivals like Florida Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, who he has halfheartedly nicknamed the sanctimonious, four out of ten I give that. Republican governor Glenn Youngkin who Trump attacked by saying his name, quote, sounds Chinese? He is also apparently against everybody’s judgment to announce his running next Tuesday, before the runoffs in Georgia, anyone with half a brain so recognizes that that is a terrible prospect for Republicans, because Donald Trump’s political kryptonite. But of course, Donald Trump doesn’t care about that. He cares about himself, he cares about political dominance, and he will force the Republican Party to explicitly choose sides for 2024, right now even if it means disaster in both the short and long runs."
