Hillary Adviser: If Trump Wins in 2020, It Will Be Because of the Russians Again

‘The Russians played a significant role in electing him in 2016 and it will play a significant role in 2020’

A former DNC adviser is already making excuses for a potential Trump re-election victory in 2020.

If Trump's re-elected, it will be because of Russia, the adviser suggested Wednesday after the president announced his intent to run for re-election, almost 1,000 days before the election.

The former Hillary Clinton adviser, Zac Petkanas, said the choice of Brad Parscale as Trump's campaign manager signals they're anticipating assistance from Russia.

"I think the Russians played a significant role in 2016 and it will play a significant role in 2020," Petkanas said on Fox News. "Which is why I think Brad Parscale is such an interesting choice for this. He put together a digital campaign that was copied by the Russians, did basically the exact same thing, targeted the same battleground space, targeted to suppress minority voters, ran an ad campaign, it was a huge multimillion dollar operation."

Petkanas said he "absolutely" agrees with Nate Silver that Trump can win again.

"I think that is especially true given that we know that the Russians are once again engaged,"
