EXCERPT:

MITCHELL: “David Ignatius of 'The Washington Post' joins us. You have a unique perspective, because you were mentioned in the sentencing memo of Mike Flynn and you wrote in January 12 of 2017 a piece for 'The Washington Post,' first raising the question about the Logan Act which is treason, it hasn't been charged since 1789 or whatever it was that it was first, or maybe it's only been charged once when it was first legislated. The fact that you first revealed the Kislyak connection and the possibility that in your are reporting this conversation or the conversations with Kislyak, the Russian ambassador at the time and Michael Flynn had to do with promising the Russians that if they didn’t overreact to Barack Obama’s sanctions because of their interference, the Russian interference in the election, that they would go easy once they took office after January 20th. What's your perspective of what's happening today?”
IGNATIUS: “Well, it's an extraordinary day. I should just note, Andrea, I don't think one should not equate violation of the Logan Act with treason, they are different things.”
MITCHELL: “OK.”
IGNATIUS: “Logan Act is a -- is a 18th century somewhat archaic piece of legislation.
