‘Really interesting is how much of a spotlight this has put on Europeans’

EXCERPT:
STRASSEL: "That is a very very hard to imagine. The one part Iran has to play it will continue to play it as long as it can giving them that leverage we cannot leave and allow them to do that. One of the things that’s been really interesting is how much of a spotlight this has put on Europeans humiliating state of many their armed forces and military in particular their naval power. The United Kingdom which who used to rule the sea in the 1970 and 166 vessels is down to 66 but most of those cannot come out of port because they’re in for repairs they currently have more admirals than they have warships. The French have one aircraft carrier it is so old it’s due to be decommissioned and a little more than a decade. One of the questions here is how the United States works with them what they can supply in terms of logistics, surveillance, mine sweeping. They’re going to need to be involved to get this open again."
