London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, is trashing President Trump ahead of his visit this week to the United Kingdom.
Khan said Londoners find the U.S. president’s views on climate and abortion, “abhorrent and offensive.” The mayor — with whom Trump has exchanged barbs with in the past — said his country is on the “wrong side of history” for treating Trump to a state visit.
“Some of the things Donald Trump has done over the last two, three years, Londoners find abhorrent and offensive,” Khan told Sky News. “Rolling back the reproductive rights of women, separating children from their parents on the Mexican border, introducing a ban on Muslim majority countries, standing up and defending white supremacists, neo-Nazis you might have seen in Charlottesville, amplifying messages from racists in this country, walking away from the Paris Climate Accord, and I could go on.”
Khan said the UK should have said “boo to a goose” and denied Trump the state visit.
Trump, before landing Monday morning, responded, calling Khan a “stone cold loser.”
