WYMAN AREL: "I mean, we have open dialogue, so we talked about it. She was definitely scared. She was like — she started crying. She was like, 'This is a scary world we live in, mom.' And I'm like, 'I know.' You know, my older kids were talking about getting backpacks, the bulletproof backpacks, because it seems like there's always some sort of a threat at the school. You know, starting to be — stuff like that gets real when something so big happens. Like, okay, that really could be our school next. So we came home. She wanted to lock up right away. We locked up, locked up the windows. I do have a firearm so it made her feel better to know that I was carrying it around and had it all ready to go. She was scared somebody was going to come into our home. And I told her, 'You’ve got to remember that odds could be so slim for that. Try not to worry so much. But I will do whatever I can to make you feel better in the meantime, too.'"
