BHADELIA: “The third big thing is last week, HHS announced an expansion of something called Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act that basically allows more vaccinators to be created by pulling in retired physicians or other providers and allowing them the license to give vaccinations and then allowing currently licensed practitioners to cross state borders. I think all of those will make a difference. So, J&J is great news. What we know from the trial last week is that it is highly effective in reducing severe disease and hospitalizations. That’s really what we are afraid of with these new variants. So, if they go through the FDA approval process, it is likely that the earliest we might se that approval is at the end of February, beginning of March. That means in that the next month though, we might still have a bit of a front. After that, J&J has actually allocated about 100 million doses. One thing I want to remind people that I was reminded of yesterday, this timeline of the summer of everybody getting vaccinated that's based on the current messenger RNA vaccine. So, every new candidate that's successful shortens that timeline, I hope, fingers crossed.”
