EXCERPT:
MAURO: "They are talking about midtown and what I’ve been hearing for a good long time now. Initially, the reporting I was getting was well over 90 percent of the pickpocket and property crimes that were occurring in midtown right along the tourist corridors were all migrant gangs and crews on scooters, going into stores or running pickpocket scams. To say that it’s 75 percent of the violent crimes including assaults, robberies of the things that are really detrimental to a community that is an escalation."
