‘The river right behind us rose almost 30 feet in less than an hour, unprecedented’

RUSH EXCERPT:

ROY: “I got in late last night, supposed to be in D.C. for the signing of the bigger beautiful bill. I would normally be right by this bridge, Kerrville, my family comes every year. Unfortunately, we’re here under these circumstances. The river right behind us rose almost 30 feet in less than an hour, unprecedented. It’s like a while bare row of – wheelbarrow of water got dumped here. We’re all working together, about a thousand boots on the ground, we had about 240 rescues yesterday, 160 were air rescues. They were working through the night to try to get a few of the kids in camps who were isolated because you couldn’t get to them because the road were down. A coordinated effort. We’ve got the manpower.”
