Rep. Cooper: Postmaster General Should Be Arrested If He Tries to Challenge a Subpoena

‘The subpoena has to have real meaning’

EXCERPT:

JACKSON: “Thank you. So has the committee heard anything from DeJoy about whether or not he’s going to testify next week in front of you?”
COOPER: “Well, if he doesn’t, we need to hold him in contempt. Because this is outrageous behavior. He’s sabotaging the post office and every American depends on good postal service.”
JACKSON: “Should he be subpoenaed?”
COOPER: “Absolutely. And the subpoena has to have real meaning. Subpoena means under penalty. And it's useless if you allow them to get off scot-free. We have to be able to enforce that and that may mean the possibility of arresting the post master general. He’s got to be accountable to the American people, we got to have good postal service."
