Rep. Crenshaw on Claims of Him Insider Trading: ‘I Simply Didn’t Know that You Had to Disclose [Investments] Right Away’

CRENSHAW: “There was a criticism about that much earlier on, like a year ago or something, because I simply didn’t know that you had to disclose it right away, after -- after -- after doing it, but there -- there’s no nefarious activity here. You know, the biggest trade I had was the index itself. So it's hard to accuse somebody of insider trading when you’re not even really trading individual stocks. Again, like -- just because somebody does well it doesn’t mean there’s something nefarious going on, but the Internet likes to be the Internet and -- and spread whatever rumors they want.”
