EXCERPT:
JAYAPAL: “So when Republicans passed a $2 trillion tax cut for the wealthiest people in this country, we had plenty of money. And let’s be clear that any money that gone into the unemployment benefits is going to be spent right away. It is desperate for so many people across this country to be able to get those unemployment benefits, to be able to have some certainty that they can keep money in their pockets, and to know that we are actually taking on the virus through the testing and contact tracing, money for state and local governments. These are things that — it’s very clear this is what we have to do. And the question is, when are the Republicans going to get off their hands and stop talking about how we can’t give money to people in their most dire of circumstances?"
