Shermichael Singleton: ‘I’m Not Certain that Joe Walsh Is the Right Person To Be the Messenger’

‘I think he’s apologizing to the people he thinks he would potentially need to put forth a legitimate campaign against the president’

EXCERPT:

SINGLETON: "I think he’s apologizing to the people he thinks he would potentially need to put forth a legitimate campaign against the President. By that I mean independent voters, I mean those suburban voters that he alluded to who we saw went in droves in 2018 for the Democratic congressperson over the Republican in their respective congressional districts. But I’m not certain that it’s enough. While I think a lot of his critiques over the President and our current situation in the Republican Party are completely legitimate, I’m not certain that Walsh is the right person to be the messenger behind this. And I say that in part because of many of his most recent remarks on Twitter, on his radio show that I think raise a lot of questions in the minds of a lot of people, 'What legitimacy do you have to talk about these things?' And I think if you saw the interview that Kendis Gibson had Sunday, Kendis would have hinted towards that in many of his very pointed questions. And while the apologies I think we should accept, I think he has to go up on a road of redemption if you will. I’m not certain he has done that so soon."
