D. TRUMP: "Great on energy. Stopping the EV mandate, which, you know, hurts Elon, and that’s too bad. But I told him, long before he endorsed me, I said I’m going to stop the mandate. Because he mandate said everybody has to have an electric car within a few years, and I said that’s not going to happen because who wants — not everybody wants an electric car. He said, 'You know what, as long as I’m on the same footing as everybody else.' I thought it was a great statement. But it turned out not to be so because he was very upset about it."
