‘1,000-Lb. Sisters’ star Tammy Slaton breaks down over husband’s death: We had ‘problems’ but I loved him

Tammy Slaton got emotional while talking to fans about the recent death of her husband, Caleb Willingham. The "1000-Lb. Sisters" star, 36, broke down in a TikTok video Sunday, explaining that she took to social media after seeing a fan comment that “touched [her] heart.” “I hate getting on here and letting everybody see me like this,” Slaton admitted in the video, while holding back tears. “I’m in the stages of grief. Yeah, we were having problems, but I loved that man and I still do.” Tammy Slaton broke down in tears while addressing the death of her beloved husband, Caleb Willingham. “I’m in the stages of grief,” she said. Slaton didn't get into the details of his death because it was so "personal." The TLC reality star, who confirmed Willingham’s passing at age 40 on Saturday, said she wasn’t going to “get into the details” of what happened. “No offense, but it’s really personal,” she shared. “I miss him like crazy but I wanted to thank everybody for — I’m sorry — thank everybody for their comments,” she went on. She added, “I’m aware he’s looking down on me. You know, he’s not in any pain anymore. I know he’s in a better place.” The reality star wed her husband in 2022. Slaton then addressed one of her followers directly, who commented, "Tammy, Jesus will be with you every step of the way holding you tight [through] this difficult time [you're] going through. Be strong."  The reality star told the commenter that their message was the reason why she made the vulnerable TikTok post. “It touched my heart,” she said. “I’m aware he’s looking down on me. I know he’s not in pain anymore. I know he’s in a better place.” She walked down the aisle just one month after they got engaged. Slaton concluded the emotional post by saying, ”I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Believe it or not, he really loved you all, too.”  Willingham, who went by the nicknames “Killa K” and “Double K,” made a few rare appearances on his wife’s TLC show. The couple met during her 14-month stay at a rehab in Ohio, where she was undergoing treatment to qualify for weight-loss surgery. “Our wedding day was perfect, there was so much love in the room,” Slaton said of their nuptials. They got engaged in October 2022, and said "I do" one month later in Gibsonburg, Ohio. “Our wedding day was perfect, there was so much love in the room,” Slaton told People earlier this year. “I literally married my best friend," she went on. Willingham's cause of death is not yet known. “I love waking up every morning and seeing his face. And seeing his face every night before going to bed.” According to The Sun, the pair split in May because Caleb allegedly hadn’t been “following his diet in rehab.” However, Page Six has not independently confirmed the report but has reached out to Slaton’s rep for comment. Willingham’s cause of death has yet to be revealed.
