Shootings spike as mercury rises in NYC, surging more than 50% last week: NYPD data

A total of 23 shooting incidents with 27 victims were reported in the five boroughs between April 21 and Sunday – up from the 15 shootings with 16 victims tallied during the same period last year, the statistics show.
