The Handshake: Trump, Kim Jong Un Meet, Greet

‘I am very happy to meet you here in Singapore’
By Grabien Staff

It's a handshake for history.

President Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong Un met in Singapore Tuesday, shaking hands and exchanging greetings, the first time the respective heads of state have ever met directly since North Korea came into existence.

"I am very happy to meet you here in Singapore," Kim told Trump as they greeted.

Trump, notorious for giving firm handshakes, appeared to give such Kim Jong Un a particularly tight grip.

After Trump shaked the hand of France's Emanuel Macron, a visible thumbprint was left on the French leader's hand.

As the two heads of state walked along a corridor outside the Capella Hotel on Singapore's Sentosa Island, Trump patted Jong Un on the back. They eventually shook hands again before meeting their interpreters.
